Trade ATC's with me.....

Besides sewing and making beautiful craft projects I love to draw and paint. Today I had a mad desire to join a ATC trading group on the Internet. Many years ago I was a member of a fabric post card group and I thoroughly enjoyed it but as ever life got a bit hectic and I lost touch with the group and making fabric postcards became a distant memory. I was recently watching a utube video, a lady named Megan who makes the most delightful whimsical ATC's check out her blog. (www.meganscreativebliss.blogspot.com) Inspired I joined a ATC forum and went off to my sewing room to create my own ATC's. I knew straight away what I had in mind, my Funky Birds which some of you may remember from the name badges I did a couple of years ago for our area day. So far I have only made three and I thought I would share them with you but I have lots of ideas for more. If any of you who read my blog would like to swap a ATC just send me an email and we can arrange a swap.

Felting about......

I have been invited to talk about my quilts and do a mini work shop for East Lancs Area day in September. I have designed this little monogrammed felt needle case specifically for the day.  This morning I was rummaging around the sewing room and discovered three unused broach pins. I decided to make some new flower broaches based on the flower design on the needle case. I even found two lovely bling flower buttons idea as the centre embellishment.  Its so nice to make quick little project and have something pretty and completed in a short time it lifts ones spirits.

Simply darling....

Several days ago a lady from Southport quilters introduce me to the Missouri Star Company and I fell in love with some of the tutorials. One was called disappearing four patch. I decided to have a go myself. I raided my fabric stash and this is what I came up with. It is a small quilt 40 x 40 inches square and it only took a few days to make. The lady on the video refereed to her quilt as a simply darling little quilt to make so that's just what I called mine "simply Darling".

Regional Day at Frodsham...

On Saturday 8th March I went to the regional day. The Speaker in the morning was Janice Gunner and Linda Barlow spoke in the afternoon. As always I had a great time. It is such a lovely way of meeting like minded people and enjoying lots of quilts. I enjoyed both speakers but sadly I did not manage to get any photo's of Linda Barlows quilts (if you would like to see her work google her name).  The photos above are some of Janice Gunners work.  I loved her log cabin with attitude and the poppy quilt, in fact there wasn't one piece of her work I did not like. The table was an abundance of colours. Linda Barlows work was also very colourful but in a totally different way to Janice's work. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole day.

The Return

Last week a very dear friend of mine asked when I was going to return to blogging and over the last few days I have really thought about it. So this morning I have fiddled about and reinstated my old blog.  However I am still not sure if I have any space to upload images but here goes. Saturday was a really lovely sunny day and hubby and I went for a little walk in Little Crosby.  During our walk I met this little fellow isnt he lovely. He is a Starling.

I have no more picture space on this blog. So I have created another blog called Sew Susan Continued. It will appear in my list of blogs I am following. Thank you for all your words of kindness and encouragement. This I hope is only temporary till I can figure out the stupid Picassa problem. in the meantime hugs to you all xxxx

Very sad

I am really sad I have had to delete lots of old post in order to free up some space on stupid picassa album to continue to upload new images and keep blogging. :( If anyone knows how to unistall picassa album please advise as I can not find it in any of my programmes. Thanks
