Felting.....

Where are the days going? I am so wrapped up and busy with this foundation course I completely loose track of time.  My poor little blog is so neglected, bless but it is because I have not done any sewing since the sewing day last Saturday when i made Lucas Rabbit. However, on Thursday in college we had a felt making session, finally something creative I could blog about.  I managed to make several small pieces of felt in class then took them home and let them dry over night. The following evening i was so excited because with my felt i could try out a very special foot a very very very generous lady gave me for my Bernina. (You know who you are x) With felting embellishing foot attached of I went. it took me two broken needles and a little bit of time but eventually I was off and running. The latest project is titled Flora, fauna, fish, fur, feather and fowl, hence the felting flowers and the fish. I wanted to add a bit of bling to my gold fish so I sewed some sequins and beads to him.

I like what you did with your felt, especially the fish.

hi Kath, it was wet felting with soap. My fingers where all prune like and shrivelled by the end of the morning but the room smelt lovely and my hands where very clean. As of late they are always smeared with ink. hahaha oh hey I am not that much younger than you but thanks for the lovely comment as always xxx

I love doing the felting Susan, but I have a machine for it, hubby bought it for me for my birthday a while back. If you are going to get into this I would get a machine and save your sewing machine for its proper use. The dust from the felting process will get in the workings of your sewing machine. Do take care.....
