Lost in my own little world:
After a lot of sewing and washing (<- boaring) yesterday, I felt I needed time out with a difference. I realised I had not touched my sketch book in months, so out it came, as did my water colour paints. For me, there is nothing quite like the feeling I get with pen or pencil in hand and page after page of blank paper in front of me. I am so at peace with myself, whilst being completely lost in a world of ideas and images. The exciting part is when the pencil first touches the page and I try to transport the images from my minds eye to the paper. This is the first step on a journey of which I do not know the final destination. Yesterdays journey started as some squiggly lines that turned into the most delightful flowers. But what to do with the end results? Sometimes they are destined to be sealed away in the sketch books never to see the light of day. Then other times, like these flowers, they are meant to be shared. I decorated several plain white envelopes and some A4 paper with the flowers. I will use these when I write to my pen-friends, Leanne (Auatralia)and Lana (Cananda).

Lovely. Rather folk-art I think. I can see these decorating a wooden box...
Susan, these are a delight (as it your work always). I wish I could draw (even one per cent as well as this) Will they not be transposed into a quilt? Or maybe a mugrug series?
Judith xx
absolutely GORGEOUS Susan! you are so clever! they'd make some nice applique! Don't just leave them in your book, we need to see them! xx
Hello Ladies As always thank you for the lovely comments.
Kath, i like your thinking and I have just the box ready to paint.
Judith, I asure you they are just squiggly lines, no real tallent. But complinments are always welcome.
Maybe a small applique lap quilt Gwen? I will add it to my todo list.
